§ Dr. BURGINMy Department have no official statistics on this question, but an estimate supplied by the industry is that there are about 320 concerns engaged entirely in cotton spinning or in cotton spinning and doubling, and that a further 150 concerns are engaged in both spinning and weaving. It is further understood that the great majority of these concerns are public limited companies.
