asked the President of the Board of Trade what notices are reuared and what are the dates when the various Dominion and foreign agreements relating to the import of agricultural products can be terminated?

The following is a list of Dominions and foreign countries with which agreements have been concluded containing provisions relating to the import of agricultural products into the United Kingdom.

Country: When Terminable.

Canada: 20th August, 1937, or thereafter, on six months' notice.*

Australia: 20th August, 1937, or thereafter, on six months' notice.*

New Zealand: 20th August, 1937, or thereafter, on six months' notice.*

Union of South Africa: 20th August, 1937, or thereafter, on six months' notice.*

Newfoundland: 20th August, 1937, or thereafter, on six months' notice.*

India: After six months' notice.

Southern Rhodesia: 20th August, 1937, or thereafter, on six months' notice.*

Argentina: 7th November, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Denmark: 20th June, 1936 (see note below†).

Estonia: 31st December, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Finland: 23rd November, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

France: 31st March, 1935, or thereafter, on three to six months' notice.

Iceland: 28th June, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Latvia: 31st December, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Lithuania: 31st December, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Netherlands: After three months' notice.

Norway: 7th July, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Poland: 31st December, 1936, or thereafter, on six months' notice.

Sweden: 7th July, 1936, or thereafter, on. six months' notice.

* As regards eggs, poultry, butter, cheese, and other milk products, free entry was to be continued for certain until 20th August, 1935, after which His Majesty's Government. in the United Kingdom reserved the right, if they considered it necessary in the interests of the United Kingdom producer to do so, to review the basis of preference and after due notification either to impose a preferential duty on Dominion produce whilst maintaining preferential margins, or, in consultation with the Dominion Governments, to bring such produce within any system which might be put into operation for the quantitative regulation of supplies. from all sources in the United Kingdom market.

† The agreement with Denmark provides that the contracting Governments shall consult together before the date of termination for the purpose of determining whether it shall be continued in force and if so upon what conditions. The two Governments have agreed to open negotiations on 11th May for a temporary extension of the agreement.
