asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the growing practice of the public assistance authorities deducting the value of school meals from unemployment allowances; and will he have inquiries made with a view to such practice being brought to an end?

I am not aware of any such change of practice as is referred to; and I would point out that, in any case, I have no power to give directions to local authorities of the nature suggested.
