§ The PRIME MINISTERIn the draft treaties negotiated with Mohamed Mahmoud Pasha in 1929 and with Nahas Pasha in 1930 for the purpose of resolving the questions left outstanding by the declaration to Egypt of 28th February, 1922, His Majesty's Government recognised Egypt's right to become a member of the League of Nations by complying with the provisions of the Covenant of the League. His Majesty's Government have not receded from that attitude.
