§ Mr. MANDERasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the present position with regard to the case of Mr. Lenox-Simpson and his claim for compensation?
§ Sir S. HOAREA claim for compensation in respect of this case was lodged with the Manchurian authorities in November, 1934, but was rejected by them. After consultation with Mr. Lenox-Simpson a claim was again presented in August last. The Manchurian authorities, however, persist in refusing to entertain the claim, and I have to my regret been forced to the conclusion that any attempt to take further steps in the matter would be of no avail.
