§ Captain ERSKINE-BOLSTasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he can state the total face value of spurious silver coins, or paper money, of British origin detected and confiscated in the last 12 months?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI do not think it would be in the public interest to give details, but I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that the total face value is quite small. An estimate of the counterfeit coin in circulation will be found at page 58 of the Sixty-third Annual Report of the Deputy Master and Comptroller of the Royal Mint, 1932.
