HC Deb 02 May 1934 vol 289 c322W
Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, with a view to informing Members of the nature of the news regularly issued by his Department by wireless from Rugby under the title of "British Official News," he will arrange for copies of such news to be supplied to the House of Commons Library?

Sir J. SIMON

No, Sir. This suggestion has been considered more than once, but compliance with the hon. Member's request would involve an unjustifiable increase of Departmental work. The files of the messages are, however, available at the Foreign Office for inspection by any Member who is interested in the nature of the news they contain.
