THE MARQUESS OF ABERDEEN AND TEMAIRasked His Majesty's Government whether it is their intention to introduce a Bill to amend existing 396WA legislation with regard to salmon angling in Scotland in order that the provisions thereof may be discussed by the parties interested before it is proceeded with in Parliament.
§ THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (LORD STRATHCONA AND MOUNT ROYAL)It will not be possible to proceed with legislation on the subject of salmon fisheries in Scotland during the present Session. A memorandum setting out the heads of a proposed amending Bill has been circulated to the Association of Scottish District Salmon Fishery Boards, and other bodies interested in salmon fishing; and the whole subject is being reviewed in the light of the representations received. The question of legislation has not yet been considered by the Government, but the suggestion of preliminary introduction with a view to publication and discussion will be kept in view.
