HC Deb 21 February 1934 vol 286 c354W
Sir P. DAWSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air what progress has been made as regards obtaining the sanction of the Italian Government to run British air liners over Italian territory, so as to allow the Indian and African air mails to be operated without requiring an intermediate train journey?

Sir P. SASSOON

As my hon. Friend will be aware from my reply to questions on 7th February, a provisional understanding to this end has already been reached with the Italian Government. A draft formal agreement is under discussion.
