§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI have no power to comply with my hon. Friend's request. Axle loads, as well as total weights of vehicles, have to be taken into account in considering possible damage to roads and bridges. I have, however, referred representations which have been made to me on this subject by the British Road Federation to the Transport Advisory Council, and I will carefully consider any recommendations that they may make.
