HC Deb 17 November 1933 vol 281 c1187W
Mr. HANNON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any answer has yet been received from the Spanish Government with regard to our representations on the subject of the discrimination, amounting to a 35 per cent, rebate of duty, in favour of imports of French motor cars; and whether, in view of the terms of our trade treaty with Spain, steps will be taken to ensure that similar rebates of duty are allowed on imports of British cars into Spain?

Dr. BURGIN

Yes, Sir. The Spanish Government have intimated that they are ready to accord to United Kingdom motor cars entering Spain the same treatment as is now accorded to imports of French motor cars.
