asked the President of the Board of Trade the value of the imports and exports between this country and Japan, and vice versa, for each of the last 12 years, respectively, giving separate figures in respect of the main items?

For the years 1921–1931 the information desired is available in Volume IV of the issues of the "Annual Statement of the Trade of the United Kingdom" for 1925, 1930 and 1931, which contain the particulars for these years and for each of the four previous years. The volume for 1932 has not yet been published, and the only data relating to this year that are readily available are those contained in the monthly "Accounts relating to Trade and Navigation of the United Kingdom".
