§ Mr. HOWARDasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the names of the organisations at present recognised by the Treasury as representing unestablished and temporary paper keepers and messengers in the Civil Service; whether such associations hold a certificate of approval under the Civil Service (Approved) Associations' Regulations; and what is the total number of the grades concerned in each of the organisations so recognised?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAIn reply to the first and second parts of the question, the Government Minor and Manipulative Grades Association, which holds a certificate of approval under the regulations referred to, and the Whitehall branch of the Transport and General Workers Union are at present jointly recognised in respect of the grades in question. In reply to the third part, it would be contrary to practice to disclose information supplied by associations as to their membership in particular grades except by consent of those associations.
