HC Deb 07 March 1933 vol 275 cc1004-5W
Mr. BATEY

asked the Secretary for Mines if he will issue a statement showing the number and names of collieries in Durham carrying out Section 76 of the Coal Mines Act, 1911, and regulations Nos. 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, and 112 issued by the Secretary of State for the Home Department, dated 10th July, 1913, and published 15th July, 1913; and if he will instruct inspectors of mines to ascertain why Section 76 of the Coal Mines Act, 1911, and regulations thereunder have not been adopted at all mines?

Mr. E. BROWN:

So far as I am aware, adequate sanitary conveniences are provided at collieries in Durham and no complaints of any lack of facilities have been received. If the hon. Member has in mind any colliery at which the arrangements are alleged to be unsatisfactory and will let me have particulars, I will have inquiries made.
