HC Deb 01 March 1933 vol 275 c378W
Mr. DONNER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is in a position to state when the report of Lieutenant G. B. Grylls with regard to the ground organisation of the Cape to Cairo air service is likely to be made available?

Sir P. SASSOON:

Lieutenant Grylls's survey of the ground organisation of the Cape-Cairo air route was primarily undertaken with a view to advising the Tangankiya Administration as to the improvement of aerodromes in that territory and to make recommendations for the allocation of the Beit Trust Grant for the improvement of ground organisation in Rhodesia. Numerous separate reports were made during the course of the survey, and they have not been collated into a single document. On this ground, and in view of the considerable expense which would be involved, my Noble Friend does not contemplate their publication.
