§ Mr. E. BROWNDuring the year 1932, 7,137 coal-cutting machines and 3,265 coal-face conveyors were in use at mines in Great Britain, and 80,286,000 tons of coal were cut by machine. The corresponding figures for 1931 were, 7,371, 3,137 and 76,864,000, respectively.
