HC Deb 01 June 1933 vol 278 cc2075-6W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Home Secretary the number of appeals he has received in favour of the passage of the Hotels and Restaurants Bill and the number against?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I have received a large number of representations regarding this Bill. Of these some have been made by representative organisations and others have been made by individuals. In these circumstances, any calculation of the numbers of the representations on each side would be bound to be mislead- ing, and I am satisfied that the publication of these figures would serve no useful purpose.
