HC Deb 21 December 1933 vol 284 c1493W
Sir C. CAYZER

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in compiling the figures showing the invisible exports for the current year, he will consider the desirability of compiling a table to accompany these statistics showing the amount of money which would have been received by this country in respect of loans to countries such as Brazil, if they had honoured their obligations?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Precise information as to the sums due to residents of the United Kingdom in respect of unpaid interest on loans to individual countries is not available, but the annual article on the balance of trade contains an estimate of the aggregate sum in default.
