HC Deb 25 November 1932 vol 272 c367W
Sir J. LAMB

asked the Minister of Transport if his attention has been drawn to statistics published by the American Bureau of Public Roads as to the relative amount of damage done to roads by six-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles; if any tests regarding this subject have been made by his authority in this country; and, if so, will he give the results?

Mr. PYBUS

My Department is aware of the information published by the United States Bureau of Public Roads, relating to the tests on wheel impact with four and six-wheeled vehicles. Similar tests have not been made in this country, but apparatus for the measurement of wheel impact is now available and a programme of tests has been entered upon.
