GILMOURRecent seizures of packets containing tickets relating to the sweepstake mentioned were effected by Customs officers under their statutory powers: in reply to the second part of the question, the sale in this country of tickets in any sweepstake is illegal, and it is the duty of the authorities to take such steps as are open to them to enforce the law.
