HC Deb 09 May 1932 vol 265 cc1559-60W
Sir R. GOWER

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the fact that the values of properties abutting on main roads has been depreciated owing to the noise and vibration caused by heavy traffic; and whether he will consider the desirability of inviting representatives of property owners' associations to nominate representatives to serve on the Rail and Road Conference for the purpose of enabling the damage arising from such noise and vibration to be assessed?

Mr. PYBUS

I cannot see my way to give direct representation on the Conference to these associations, but I would repeat the assurance which I have given on a number of occasions that all interests concerned will have an opportunity to express their views before any action is taken on the findings of the Conference.
