§ Mr. MOLSONasked the Minister of Transport what is the total amount of loans sanctioned for the establishment of new tramways and the amount for demolition of old tramways?
§ Mr. PYBUSI would refer my hon. Friend to the last published annual returns relating to tramways and light railways and trackless trolley undertakings, from which he will see that the total capital which municipal and company tramway undertakings have been authorised to raise by loans debentures and debenture stock at the end of the last financial year was about £101,000,000 in the case of municipal undertakings, and about £10,000,000 in the case of company undertakings. It is not possible to state what proportion of this capital was authorised in respect of the demolition of existing tramways.
