HC Deb 16 February 1932 vol 261 c1478W
Lord BALNIEL

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the opposition to the proposal of the Electricity Commissioners to carry overhead cables through the Keswick valley, he will hold a public inquiry?

Mr. PYBUS

In connection with any application which may be made to me by the Central Electricity Board for my consent to the placing of lines above ground, the local authorities concerned will be given an opportunity of being heard at a public inquiry if they so desire.
