§ Sir H. BETTERTONThe only figures I can give are those for the amounts paid by way of insurance benefit and transitional payments. They average £55 per annum for adult men (including those with dependants) unemployed and drawing benefit throughout the year and £35 per annum for adult women unemployed and drawing benefit throughout the year.
