HC Deb 14 April 1932 vol 264 cc1000-1W
Captain ELLISTON

asked the Home Secretary whether arrangements are being made to appoint women medical officers for the examination of girls concerned in sexual offences, in accordance with the requests of moral welfare committees in the Metropolitan area?

Sir H. SAMUEL

The number of cases is not great enough to warrant special appointments, whether of men or of women, for this purpose. If in any particular case the parents of the child de- sired that the examination should be conducted by a woman doctor and one were available, her services would be utilised.
