HC Deb 24 November 1931 vol 260 c231W
Mr. McGOVERN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that the Glasgow Corporation were during the summer threatened with a withdrawal of the housing grants if they changed tenants from steel houses to ordinary corporation houses; and whether objection is still taken to this proposed change?

The Department of Health for Scotland have no power to withhold housing subsidy, on the ground that the corporation have transferred tenants from steel houses to corporation houses, and no suggestion that this would be done was made.
