HC Deb 19 November 1931 vol 259 cc1024-5W
Mr. REMER

asked the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been drawn to the growing control of the British film industry by, American interests; and what action he proposes to take to preserve this industry for British enterprise?

Major COLVILLE

My information is that the striking development which has taken place in British film production during the past few years has lessened the dependence of the British film industry upon American interests, and I see no present occasion for action on my part.
