§ Mr. LEACHasked the President of the Board of Education if his attention has been directed to the advertisements for uncertificated teachers now being issued on behalf of the education committees of Essex, Dorset, Herts County Council, Leicestershire County Council, and Holland (Lines); and whether he will consider the advisability of using his influence with these authorities to persuade them against the engagement of uncerficated teachers?
§ Mr. LEES-SMITHThe employment of uncertificated teachers is allowed by the code, and I am not therefore in a position to press individual authorities to cease appointing them unless there are special circumstances present in their case.
