§ Mr. GREENWOODThe average number of persons (including dependent wives, but excluding children) in receipt of domiciliary relief who were ordinarily engaged in some regular occupation and relieved mainly on account of unemployment was 116,297 in March, 1930, and 57,177 in September, 1930. The numbers of dependent wives included in these figures were approximately 50,000 and 25,000 respectively.
