§ Mr. SHAWAs regards the first part of the question my hon. Friend will find the figures for the recruiting years 1925–29 on page 12 of the General Annual Report on the British Army for 1929 (Command Paper 3498). The total number of recruits finally approved during the recruiting year ended 30th September, 1930, was 26,550. As regards the remainder of the question, I regret that information is not available.
