asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he proposes to take any action, and, if so, what, to convey the thanks of the British nation to the Belgian Government for the passing of the legislation granting legal status to the British settlement at Ypres?

His Majesty's Ambassador at Brussels was instructed on 30th December last to convey to the Belgian Minister of Justice His Majesty's Government's warm appreciation of the Belgian Government's generous action in this matter.
