asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office the percentage of horses and mules belonging to the Army that were destroyed for veterinary reasons, admitted for treatment of injuries of all kinds, and admitted for treatment of ailments other than injuries, respectively, during the year 1930?

For the year ending 31st March, 1931, the figures are as follow:—Destroyed, horses 4.86 per cent., mules 1.62 per cent.; admitted for injuries, horses 47.89 per cent., mules 20.93 per cent.; admitted for ailments, horses 58.81 per cent., mules 11.79 per cent.
