§ Mr. CHORLTONasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that long stretches of new highway are being much reduced in their traffic value by the obstruction caused by level crossings; and what steps he is taking to facilitate the removal of such obstacles?
§ Mr. PYBUSIt is not the practice to give assistance from the Road Fund towards the construction of new highways which will be subject to obstruction by level crossings, apart from temporary works crossings in exceptional cases. But if my hon. Friend will furnish me with any specific instance he has in mind, I will cause inquiry to be made.
