HC Deb 03 December 1931 vol 260 cc1278-9W
Brigadier-General SPEARS

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will consider including vegetables, fruit, and flowers from the Channel Islands in the Emergency Customs Duties unless it is possible to secure from the estates of the islands a contribution to the Treasury equal to the advantage they will obtain if their products are imported into this country free of duty?

Sir J. GILMOUR

It would not be practicable to carry out my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion in connection with the Horticultural Products Bill now before the House.
