§ Mr. PETHICK - LAWRENCEThe assistant principals, principals and higher officers employed in the Treasury at the present time number 66. Of these, 48 were appointed through the open competition for the administrative class. The remainder (18) previously served in some other grade. One appointment has been made to the junior administrative grade in the Treasury during the years mentioned. This appointment was made in 1926 from the open competitive examination list.
