HC Deb 13 May 1930 vol 238 c1641W
Captain P. MACDONALD

asked the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been called to the proposals put forward by the Telephone Development Association for the creation of a statutory telephone board to take over and administer the telephone system of Great Britain; and whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation for the purpose suggested, with a view to removing the present system of Treasury control over telephone expenditure?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, and to the second part in the negative.
