HC Deb 13 May 1930 vol 238 cc1653-4W
Sir D. NEWTON

asked the Minister of Health whether, in connection with the Housing (No. 2) Bill, he has formed any estimate of the number of new houses which will be needed in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively, to meet the needs of those dehoused under this Measure?

Mr. GREENWOOD

No, Sir; the number will naturally depend on the extent to which local authorities, with their knowledge of the local circumstances, make use of the powers which the Bill will confer upon them. So far as the question relates to Scotland, I would suggest that an inquiry should be addressed to my right hon. Friend.
