HC Deb 13 May 1930 vol 238 c1646W
Sir W. de FRECE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that British employés of Chinese-owned firms are compelled to accept compulsory reductions of a percentage of their agreed salaries for the purpose, according to the statement issued, of soothing the soldiers on the firing front in the current civil war; and whether he will look into the matter to see if representations can be made to the Chinese authorities?

Mr. DALTON

I have no information on the subject, but His Majesty's Minister is being asked for a report.
