§ Brigadier-General CLIFTON-BROWNasked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been called to the recent discovery at Rothamsted of cultures for inoculating lucerne seed, making the cultivation of this valuable crop practicable in all parts of this country; whether he has taken any steps to notify agricultural authorities at home of the usefulness of this experiment; and whether, through the Empire Marketing Board or by other means, he will notify the Dominions and Colonies of the success this process has had in Western Australia and elsewhere?
§ Dr. ADDISONMy right hon. Friend is aware of the Rothamsted method for the inoculation of lucerne. This method has received wide publicity in this country among agricultural authorities, and there has been a large demand for the cultures. The recently established Imperial Bureau of Soil Science is preparing a technical communication on the subject in order to give publicity to the method throughout the Empire.
