HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 cc1470-1W
Earl of DALKEITH

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made as regards the simplification and codification of the Income Tax Acts by the committee appointed in November, 1927, by the late Chancellor of the Exchequer for that purpose; whether a codifying Bill has been drafted; and, if so, when it will be introduced?

Mr. P. SNOWDEN

The committee has made substantial progress with its work. Some considerable time must still elapse before the drafting of the proposed Bill is completed.
