HC Deb 07 May 1930 vol 238 c981W
Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether full consideration has been given by his Department to the suggestion that a central London aerodrome might be built on top of the new railway station that would have to be built on the south side of the Thames if the Charing Cross Bridge scheme is eventually approved; and whether he can make a statement in this connection?

Mr. MONTAGUE

Yes, Sir. The practicability of such a scheme was fully explored, and it was found that the technical and financial difficulties involved render it impracticable.
