§ Mr. HASLAMasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the agricultural depression involving land going out of cultivation and farm workers losing their employment, he will consider, in framing his financial proposals for the coming year, what financial assistance the industry may need, especially bearing in mind the recommendation of the agricultural conference, now sitting, that steps should be taken to assure to the farmer a remunerative price for his cereals?
§ Mr. P. SNOWDENI do not know what assistance the hon. Member has in mind, but I can hold out no prospect of food taxes or subsidies.
