§ Mr. W. GRAHAMThe index of manufacturing production for the United Kingdom, prepared by the Board of Trade, shows an increase from 1927, when it was first compiled, to 1929, of 4.9 per cent. For the corresponding period the index of manufacturing production prepared by the Federal Reserve Board for the United States shows an increase of 12.5 per cent., and that prepared by the Institut fur Konjunkturforschung for Germany (including coal mining) an increase of 1.6 per cent. No recent comparable information is available as to the output per head in the countries in question.
