§ Mr. CADOGANasked the Home Secretary whether he proposes to take any action to implement the findings of the Departmental Committee on the Treatment of Young Offenders to the effect that the juvenile court should have jurisdiction to deal with all offences, except homicide, committed by persons under 17; that no child under eight should be charged with any offence; and that a young person should be defined for the purposes of the Children Act as a person who is 14 years of age and under the age of 17?
§ Mr. CLYNESYes, Sir; it is intended to incorporate these recommendations in a Bill to amend the Children Act, 1908. I cannot make any statement at present as to when such a Bill can be taken.
