HC Deb 04 February 1930 vol 234 c1692W
Mr. BOOTHBY

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he can give any further information regarding the distribution of the loan to herring fishermen; whether the conditions originally attached to the loan still hold good; what steps, if any, have been taken to convene local committees to allocate the loan; and whether the loan and the storm fund are to be administered separately or together?

Mr. W. ADAMSON

As regards the first two parts of the question, I would refer to the reply which I have given this afternoon to the hon. and gallant Member for Banffshire (Major Wood). The local committees appointed to assist the central committee in the administration of the Relief Fund will not be concerned with the loans scheme. The Belief Fund and the Loans Scheme will be administered separately but will be co-ordinated; and grants from the Fund will be taken into account in determining the amount of loan in individual cases.
