HC Deb 04 December 1930 vol 245 cc2398-9W
Mr. C. WILLIAMS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how-many people were deported from the United States of America to this country between 1st November, 1929, and 31st October, 1930, and for what reasons?

Mr. DALTON

According to the annual report of the United States Commissioner-General of Immigration for the year 1929, the number of persons deported from the United States to Great Britain during the 12 months ended 30th June, 1929, was 639. No later figures are available. The grounds for deportation are various, but the most usual are illegal entry into the United States and other violations of the United States immigration laws.
