HC Deb 15 April 1930 vol 237 c2751W
Captain TODD

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that there is on the market a British-made film base which is guaranteed fireproof; and whether the Government are prepared to consider the question of making the use of British non-inflammable films Compulsory?

Mr. SHORT

My right hon. Friend is not aware that any non-inflammable film has yet been produced which will fulfil the exacting requirements of the cinema industry, and he regrets that he cannot add anything at present to the full reply which he gave to my hon. Friend the Member for West Renfrew (Dr. Forgan) on 23rd January last.
