HC Deb 15 April 1930 vol 237 cc2742-3W
Mr. HURD

asked the Minister of Transport if he proposes to appoint auditors for the road accounts of local authorities; whether the duties of the district auditors appointed by the Ministry of Health cover this road audit: and, if so, what is the reason for this duplication and additional expense?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

The highway accounts of local authorities in England and Wales are audited or examined by the district auditors appointed by the Ministry of Health, and there is no intention to alter this arrangement.
