asked the Minister of Labour whether she can state the number of registered unemployed in Margate and Ramsgate on 1st November, 1928, and 1st November, 1929, and their respective occupations?

The following table shows the numbers on the registers of the Employment Exchanges at Margate and Ramsgate respectively at 4th November, 1929, and 5th November, 1928:

The industries in which the greatest numbers of persons were recorded as unemployed at these dates were: building and public works contracting, hotel and boarding house service, entertainments and sports and distributive trades in the case of men, and hotel and boarding house service and distributive trades in the case of women.
