HC Deb 14 November 1929 vol 231 c2246W
Mr. SINKINSON

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will consider the discontinuance of enforced attendance at church on Sunday mornings; and that all soldiers shall be able to use their own discretion as to their attendance or other-wise?

Mr. SHAW

This question among others was very fully investigated by a Commit-tee whose Report was presented to Parliament in 1925 and published as Command Paper No. 2376. The Committee recommended that there should be no change in the existing arrangements as regards church parades. I have received no evidence which suggests that the matter should be re-considered.
